|The Area of Azerbaijan Republic being the part of Caucasus surrounds the part of Aral Sea of Eurasian zone the central part of Alpine folded belt and is of a very complex geological media. This area is characterized by the wide development of ferrous, non-ferrous, rare metals, fertile material, commercial, thermal, mineral and domestic groundwater, chemistry and metallurgy industry, types of various industrial reserves of natural constructional materials.
In the bounds of Azerbaijan Republic the megaantiklinorium of Greater and Lower Caucasus and consolidated intermountain area of Kura separating them is divided into main bogen structure complexes. These complexes differ with geological and orogenic development conditions, metalogical segregation and information related to them, the location of various ore and non-ore deposits.
As a result of improvement of quality and efficiency of the implementation of the planned course on the intensity of geological exploration, the deposits of non-ore mineral products, domestic groundwater and industrial water were discovered only in the period of 60-70th ore and the reserves were taken into state registration.
The main producing funds were totally renewed and up to the minute rock exploration and well drilling equipment processing the high productivity, machinery and devices of high accuracy were bought.
In this period of time the deposits of polymetal ore, aqua bromate iodide water and bentonite clay doubled.
There were the significant expansion of raw materials, recourses of groundwater etc. which is used for constructional and road works, and the deposits of cover and decorative stones.
With the maintenance of Katekh, Katsdagh and unique Filizchay polymetal ore deposits of Balakan-Zagatala ore region on the south hangs of Greater Caucasus the establishment of strong mineral ore base of non-ferrous metallurgy in northern-west part of the Republic was over.
There were discovered industrial perspectives of New Sagator cooper-zinc and Mazmchay cooper-pyrites deposits.
In the Azerbaijan boundaries of Lower Caucasus there were discovered lots of ore deposits and after its appraisal the ration of cooper porphyrite ore deposits were involved into primer exploration.
It was the first time in the history of Geology Service when the exportation works of two ore deposit: cooper pyrites and quartz sulphide were carried out and the deposits calculated by industrial categories were confirmed.
The primary exploration works on prospecting of cooper reserves of Garadagh cooper porphyrite deposits located in Gadabay ore region is continued: By finishing the prospecting process of double quartz sulphide ore deposits the prospecting and evaluation works in the perspective appearance of cooper porphyrite ore is carried out successfully.
In Garabagh ore regions there were discovered Gizilbulaq cooper pyrites ore deposits, Damirli cooper porphyrite ore deposits, in these deposits the accurate exploration works were carried out and the reserves were prospected. In the flunks of reserves a number of phenomena were identified.
In Zangilan ore region was discovered and confirmed the Vezhnali quartz sulphide ore deposit which is not so rich with industrial reserves.
In Ordubad ore region of Nakhchivan AR, there were discovered Aghyurd, Piyazbashi, Goydagh cooper porphyrite ore deposits and their high perspectives were identified.
In flunks of silver polymetal deposits were discovered additional lead zinc reserves, and the perspectives of newfound Nasirvaz polymetal deposit were prospected.
In order to provide the existent glass factories of the Republic with local raw materials there were discovered the giant reserves in Nehram dolomite deposit and as a result of the exploration works the reserves were confirmed.
In Mishovdagh deposit there were confirmed the existence of giant iodine-bromine reserves and the exploration works were done.
In the boundaries of Bina-Hovsan area of Absheron peninsula at the end of prospecting and evaluation works there were discovered giant reserves of iodine-bromine waters. Thus the Baku iodine and Neftchala iodine-bromine factories were totally provided with the raw material. In the geological exploration works the raw materials like the zeolite, celadon green and vermiculite were discovered for the first time.
In the scientific notations of modern science Aral Sea of Caucasus segment for Azerbaijan folded belt there were prepared and printed out the geological maps scale of 1:500000, mineral products, tectonic, metallogenic, orogenic, hydrogeological, geotechnical, geophysical and geochemical anomalies, ore formation maps.
